so what's up everybody and welcome to
your next C sharp mano game our video
tutorial and by the end of this tutorial
you're gonna learn how to get everything
working so you're gonna be able to
select the area click it and it will
paste that there now normally I would
type everything out and talk along as
I'm as I'm going but I made these
changes about a week or two ago and I
really don't remember what I changed and
so on and so forth and I didn't want to
spend like the time to actually go
through my old cone the new code to try
and like figure out what changes I did
so I know you guys hate when I do this
but basically I'm just gonna be going to
a cold walkthrough and um if you guys
want I could post a source code on my
website and um you guys can download it
and see the different changes in
compared to yours right so we already
had the editor class setup and now we
have a rectangle concept at our region
we have a list we have our list of
selectors if you had before we're gonna
get the a list the vector to start and
give us the list of selected tiles we
have the selectors I mentioned with the
Baths petition yada yada yada and
another neat thing is the mouse on
screen so this is doing let's not the
mouse on the screen or not so how about
a fall which gonna set a default value
to these like 2000 I'm gonna set a
default value for the first one we're
gonna add in a vector to zero for the
selected tile so we know that the first
time we are selected by default is tau
zero so for example we have nothing
selected on this right panel let me draw
the first tile is already selected so we
can start drawing with it that's what we
basically have down will prevent errors
and so on and so forth um so we have a
mouse enter event handler and this is
okay when the mouse enters the editor
screen mouse on screen is equal to true
when it leaves a mouse on screen so you
Falls and we draw and then we invalidate
so it doesn't show it on the screen
anymore um so now we have a editor mouse
down and what happened to me do mouse
down we call current leader lair dot
replace tiles and we pass in an off
position and it's like the television
and you said it's mouse down and true
now we'll get back to that in just a
moment a couple gonna go to later class
and we're gonna see how everything works
we have our mounts move and this gets a
mouse position just like we have in our
towel sheet right on time she editor or
tile display or wherever um and we're
gonna get the width and the height so
we're gonna get the total width in the
high based on the selected region and
we're going to set the appropriate
selector position like so and we're
gonna say okay if the mouse is down then
we're gonna call editor Mouse down okay
so with what's gonna do is I'm gonna say
okay if we move the mouse where every
move the mouse whatever this this will
alter our position and if we're moving
it and mouth and our mouse button is
down when I make a call to editor Mouse
down which is going to replace the tiles
so what that does that it enables us to
initially drag and the image will stay
off okay so that's how it works and so
and then we're gonna call it making call
to invalidate and validate is going to
update it so it's gonna make a sync
signal that we should update now one
thing you have to do is I'm going to go
to our tile display right now and I
probably shouldn't zoom then before
start making this tutorial sorry but we
have our our towel display and where is
that we need to go to our I believe it
was mouse move I'm so I changed the way
we did our invalidate and because what
was happening before is that you only
selected something like this every time
you move the mouse we were seeing like
where
the selector was moving we only wanted
that when we click on a certain position
or click and hold and drag then it moves
so that's how we wanted to do so we did
that by moving these invalidates and
here so that I don't need all this when
we need it to invalidate back to the
editor code so we have a property public
property that returns the layers number
I believe we made that last tutorial to
tour two tutorials before sorry
and then we haven't initialized and in
our initialize we have oh sorry we
already went over this I'm pretty sure
sorry I don't really learn when we were
left off but we have theater selectors
path and so on and we load all our data
which should be fairly straightforward
and then we have our draw and we say if
the mouse is on screen then we will draw
the selectors if the mouse is not on the
screen we won't draw and selectors on
the screen and that is fairly
straightforward and that's how it's
gonna work so now what we want to do is
we want to go to our map dot CS torch
our lair does yes and we want to look at
a replace method so our playstyles
method takes in a position and it takes
a selected region so we get our start
index and our start index is starting
because where we're gonna start drawing
from and our Tao index now what is this
for oh yeah so lets us know which tile
to draw and then the map index it let us
transfer that data to our transit a
linux info to our map index so what's
gonna happen here is we're gonna loop do
um we're basically looping to the width
of what we're drawing so how wide are
the selected region we're drawing and
I'm gonna set the town's index X to our
selected region tag so that the top left
most corner and we're going to increment
out and XY plus 1 then we're going to
loop through this
we're gonna loop through the escrow
night so this is the weekly don't put
the do the why this little do the X
right and we're gonna say okay if it's
Thailand next time to towel if it's
greater than the textures with or it's
created in temperatures height then
we're just consent to negative vector
one so it's gonna so they're a force not
gonna draw anything for that towel
otherwise we're gonna set Thailand X
equal to the map index we're gonna do a
try and we're gonna try to set that map
and next to here so if that if we're
drawing for example this is our map size
right our map is this size right here so
if we were to draw here it would throw
an exception because we're drawing
outside the actual size of the lap right
the size of our list but what it does is
that it tries to do it if we cannot do
it then it catch the exception and then
we say okay if the tom map count is less
than or equal to i we're gonna create
our brand new I'm gonna continue listen
we're going to add these new list of
vector ones to our Tom map and add that
to our tom map so therefore it's going
to add a bunch of what's gonna do is
basically right here so if we want to
draw a right here it's gonna add in a
bunch of blank tiles all the way leading
up to here that's how it's gonna work
and then after we do that we're gonna
set our Tom map IJ equal to our map
index and then we're going to increase
the map in next X plus one and that's
essentially not work so the draw works
the same and everything else was the
same I don't know if I add this last
time but I'm pretty sure I this last
time I was up here so we said the
default position and we set the default
source rect and with that what all those
changes being done everything should be
drawn to the window correctly and you
should be able to drag and drop and
everything should work correctly now if
there's something I missed I will
address in the next tutorial and if you

I in a nice tutorial I will type along
as I go
but I did this about a week and a half
or two weeks and I did not want to look
through all the coats or three other
exact changes and yada yada yada so
