talking about choosing the right camera
we got a couple of choices laid out here
and we'll keep this focus on choices for
those on a budget as well as for those
who want the best here are a few things
to consider before you go shopping for a
camera for people on a budget you can
shoot great videos on your mobile phone
an iPhone 4 above pretty much any other
late-model smartphone is quite capable
of shooting decent video don't expect
much but here's what you'll need to make
that work you'll definitely need a
tripod in a tripod mount Belkin makes a
pretty good one and if you want sound
you're gonna need a microphone that
plugs directly into your phone you can
also use lavalier mics that plug
directly into your phone they get great
audio for about 60 bucks if your budget
allows the purchase of a video camera
here are some other options first is a
GoPro one of the most useful cameras
you'll find on the market it records
good HD video as long as it's outside or
where there's enough light the design
allows you to place the camera just
about anywhere and that makes getting
shots of the GoPro pretty easy they
start at $200 which is an affordable
camera that can do a lot the next option
is prosumer camcorder like this model
from Canon most new cameras like this or
HD capable and have zoom functionality
most have a fold-out screen to see what
you're shooting and it usually has a
built-in hard drive or an SD card slot
prices on these start around 150 dollars
and go as high as $1,000 now one of the
more expensive options I have here is
something you should consider if you're
gonna do a lot more shooting video and
photography this DSLR camera is actually
a still photography camera that happens
to shoot great HD videos what's great
about this type of camera is the ability
to attach different lenses to the camera
body which just allows you more options
it's also a great camera for low-light
situations and it's definitely more
complicated to operate and a bit more
expensive but you'll learn how to use it
and you'll be much happier with the
result you can find DSLR cameras with a
lens for less than $1000 the Canon 60d
is a good option this one has a zoom
on it and it allows you to option a
zooming into your subject a good zoom
lens is highly recommended we use the
Canon 5d Mark 2 in our studio Canon now
has a new model out called the mark 3
and these things shoot excellent quality
video and that's why we use it for
pretty much all of our online content
you can find a use mark 2 for about 1500
bucks but the mark 3 is gonna cost you
over 3 grand every camera these days has
an auto mode so you don't have to worry
about camera settings just remember
