a voiceover is an effective way to get
your message out to the viewer the only
downside is that you run the risk of
losing the viewer because they can't see
your face a voiceover can be the guiding
force in your video in in combination
with a good script and b-roll that
follows along with the message you can
put together a great video to record
audio on your computer you need a
program that allows you to capture sound
as well as edit the sound file I
recommend to programs for this
these are GarageBand and audacity both
are free downloads from the internet and
offer several options for editing and
manipulating the sound file once
recorded we have a couple of mics here
in the office to show you some options
for getting quality voice recordings
this one here is an Apogee mic and it's
an example of a good quality mic that
you can plug directly into an iPhone
iPad or a Mac computer to record the
voiceover might cost about 200 bucks but
there are definitely much cheaper mics
that you can buy the plug directly into
your computer this is the blue snowball
mic and it costs about 50 dollars and
can plug into a computer with the USB
connection however it won't plug into a
tablet device there are higher quality
options that require more hardware and
much more expensive microphones
however these less expensive options
will also give you a good clean
voiceover just make sure that you got a
quiet environment to record the script
you can find lots of tutorials online to
show you how to use these programs to
record your voiceover track just keep in
mind that it will take some time to
