and let's a little bit about 3d and 3d
perspective when we get into spotlight
and sculpting from a reference that you
have overlaid on your object that this
this will we'll get a little bit deeper
into this but just to kind of the
baggage right now you have this object
in here and actually as you look at this
it's not in a perspective mode it's
actually orthographic mode so what do I
mean what I mean by that is this kind of
as the head when you tilt your head like
this way normally this cheekbone would
be really big and then this cheekbone
back here would be really small right
now they're the same size if we have you
know what I'm gonna hit , going to tool
and we're gonna grab these human here
that's a little straight that's a little
bit better so if I go and I'm looking at
this hand here you're gonna see that the
hand closest to me is it's kind of the
same size if not a little bit smaller
than the hand farther away from me
that's backwards right that's not how
things work if you want to see this in
perspective you can hit this little
button over here which is perspective
distortion or you can hit the P key
which you can see is the ha key and now
you're gonna see that as this hand is
closer to me the hand farther away is
smaller so it kind of just toggles that
on and off now generally speaking I tend
to work in orthographic views especially
when I get to the hard edge box modely'
stuff just because it's easier to kind
of pick surface normals and move stuff
around but as you're sculpting and doing
organic sculpting I'd say leave
perspective on you know and kind of just
get a feel for how things are gonna work
if you want to change a little bit of
these properties of the perspective menu
I'm gonna go ahead and close this light
menu out and we're gonna go over here to
the draw menu and drag this over there's
a lot of stuff in here but here's your
perspective button if you don't want to
use this one you can use this one in
here and your angle of view is kind of
like your focal view and another and
another program you can kind of change
that to kind of give you like super
distorted perspective or more
orthographic you kind of change that I
think the default was 50 and a line to
object is actually if you if you'll
notice with perspective on and you kind
of move it over here see how that
personel his arm start disappearing
behind his body them though farther away
from the center you get in here that our
back arm starts pulling out in front
that's because a line to object is off
so you can actually turn that on
then when I move over here it's still in
perspective mode but it doesn't like
warp depending on how close you are to
the center that's gonna come in handy
when we start laying on reference
material across your screen if you move
your skull over here for reference if
you're sculpting a skull it's actually
going to start really warping the
farther you get from the center so just
turn this outline to object on and
that'll keep it in perspective mode but
just not warp depending on where it is
in the middle of the screen so that's
kind of the basics of perspective and
that's how you toggle it on and off as
that button or tapping P
