031 Transpose Straighten Video Lecture | Zbrush: Create Realistic Modelling - Professional Skills

and I want to show you guys one more
thing with the transposed line before we
kind of leave transposes okay we're
gonna leave transpose alone until we get
to using them as bones unlike a humanoid
or a creature it is moving verts back
along an axis so basically we're gonna
do is go grab a cube 3d drag it out go
into edit mode make a poly mesh turn on
poly frame and we're gonna go over here
to our deformation down here where says
noise I'm just gonna do some noise and
the x y&z just kind of crinkle this
thing up now let's say we want to take
this whole surface here and make it flat
so what I'm gonna do is I want to
isolate this so what I can do is hold
down ctrl which is our masking I can
mask this whole side like so I can
control tap to invert that mask and I
could also do visibility but we haven't
gotten there yet and then with W
selected if I try and tap and find a
surface normal is gonna be like a little
wonky so what I'm gonna do is just the
vert that I want I'm gonna say you know
what this vert is the furthest back and
I'll hold down shift and make sure it
goes straight back and then with W
selected I'm gonna take this this is my
anchor point that I started from I'm
gonna hold down shift and drag this one
forward and that's going to snap not
snap it's going to slowly move all of
the vertices in this plane straight back
so now in that direction I have told it
to move those verts back to a straight
plane surface so you can do that to all
these sides if you want you can mask the
side out invert that choose an anchor
point move and that'll kind of move them
back to a single straight plane so that
that will come in handy kind of an
organic stuff if you did want to go into
like geometry let's go ahead and make
this a dynamesh project off blur off
dynamesh it and let's say we want to
mask this now they know how to mask
invert transpose and lets you know what
let's let's use our stuff we've learned
so far let's go ahead and trim these
back and it's like you know what this is
messy we haven't gotten a clip yet but
we can do is you can mask this area out
invert that mask use transpose select
avert that you
they'll all be moved back to hold down
shift and move all of these things back
you can kind of use it in that situation
as well and you can also use clip so
that's a pretty good segue so let's go
ahead and talk about clip brushes
