so what's the question Adam we've been
getting a ton of questions about finding
a niche of your blog so this one is from
party k-- saw and this is started
blogging 2 years ago it's still not able
to find the perfect niche I don't know
what to do
Adam your first blog was on
relationships and you end up loving it
right and you still like relationships
but what are you more passionate about
these days viewership calm and you know
YouTube marketing okay so what most
people don't realize in blogging when it
comes to finding a niche it's not just
about finding something that you're
passionate about in the short run it's
also what you're passionate in the long
run sure Adams still passionate about
dating but he's more passionate about
marketing right so really think about
what you love before you go out there
and you create a blog it's not about hey
I'm gonna do this for five years or two
years and see what happens make sure
we'll do it for the next 10 20 years and
if you're not make sure you have a team
that's gonna carry it over and help push
it forward even when you're not there
but the first step is passion if you're
not passion about something you're not
gonna block consistently like having
those like sleepless nights you can't
stop thinking about it yeah of your life
type passion dude you created the new
site viewership yeah and when we were
hanging out last time you're like dude I
want to get to a hundred thousand
visitors a month right and you email me
questions all the time you ask my team
questions why is that you love it it's
all I think about you eat sleep drink it
like that's all you think about when
you're starting your new yes right
that's the passion yeah so now that you
got your passion out if well if you
don't know it try like 10 20 things you
may not figure out what your passion is
but you'll figure out really fast what
you don't like and when you find out
what you don't like it'll help you go
into a direction of what you like and
that's how you should we focus on
passion wise the next thing you need to
know is not everything is about passion
there's some topics out there that just
don't monetize wall dating it monetizes
some what well but what's a palma dating
you need a lot of traffic to make money
a lot of traffic yes and you know I know
your passion about it but you could've
avoided picking a topic that you need a
lot of traffic for if
you use Google Keyword planner at the
beginning Google Google Keyword planner
would have told you what keywords in
your space are how much volume and how
much those clicks are worth when
something gets a ton of clicks and the
cost per click is really high now you're
in a money industry right so you can't
just be passionate like that's an
necessity no matter what it also has to
make money if your passion never makes
money you're out of luck what are
you gonna do you're gonna end up getting
a job and doing something that you hate
and we like screw this yeah but the
first step is picking some of your
passion about - it needs to make money 3
it needs to have volume you can use
ubersuggest and you can type in keywords
it'll show you all related keywords
within your industry the search volume
the cost per click and you can use
Google Trends to type in a keyword to
see if it's on an upward movement or
downward movement because the last thing
you want to do is pick a keyword or an
industry in which it's dying in
popularity and then less and less people
are gonna talk about it so in five years
you're gonna be out of a blog or no
one's gonna be reading it right but
that's a strategy like it sounds like
you know the old model of like the about
com where it's about all differently not
working no it doesn't work anymore so
it's not about blogging on ten different
things Google had a hunk update called
hummingbird awhile ago and with this
update it was all about female D and
topics
they'd rather have a niche website
that's super authoritative and thorough
on one topic such as presidents of the
United States or pizza right and a
specific niche and know everything about
that versus a website that covers
everything under the Sun like the about
Calm ignores the Baucom you were just
discussing it when you do a google
search you see them everywhere these
days
nope exactly yeah yeah they had to pivot
pretty hard and figure out individual
niche sites yes
wikipedia is one of the only ones that
has done well but wikipedia has super
thorough content on everything and
that's a keeper contents not thorough
you won't do well in any niche right do
you remember the day that hummingbird
hummingbird went through it's not like
the JFK assassination for SEO and
I don't remember the day because it
didn't really affect me Wow alright cuz
I've only been blogging about marketing
so I never had the problem writing on
ten different things and I go super
in-depth on my content just because I
love it
