in the growing mobile market the need of
specialized mobile testing is growing
and so the need of mobile application
test automation in this short video I
will introduce you with one of the trade
mobile testing automation tools APM APM
is an open source test automation
framework for use with native and hybrid
mobile applications APM is built on the
idea that testing native application
shouldn't require including SDK or
recompiling your applications and that
you should be able to use your preferred
test practices frameworks and tools APM
aims to automate any mobile application
from any language and any test framework
with full access to back-end interfaces
and database for test code APM drives
apple user interface automation library
for iOS support and for Android support
uses the user interface framework for
newer platforms and cylindric for older
Android platform
in this light I will talk about ATM
features APM provides great testing
solution for Android and iOS mobile
application along with some support to
Firefox OS which is currently in burden
state APM does allow testing for native
hybrid mobile web and web application
for multiple mobile operating systems
one of the simple solution of testing
mobile application using web browser is
user agent approach to find out more
about user as an approach please check

automating web application in Mobile
Safari on iOS and chrome on Android fpm
can be used on emulators and real
devices it can be integrated as a node
into the selenium grid for scaling and
parallel testing one of the main feature
of APM is it also have capabilities to
test mobile application in cloud-based
setup which is usually provided by Cosby
licensed automation testing to
since OPM is in burden stage so the tool
is not completely mature for providing
comprehensive mobile application testing
solution for big corporate snake here
are some limitations or open issues
which are reported for APM the first one
is APM does not support testing mobile
applications for Android versions below
4.2 that means mobile device with
Android version 4.2 and higher can only
be tested using AP for the Android
versions lower than 4.2 you can use
cylinder test automation framework the
next point is APM does not completely
support automation of hybrid application
for example switching from native mobile
environment to over page and vice versa
is not fully supported by APM however it
can be achieved with some workarounds
and the last point is APM inspector for
Windows is not fully functional yet and
so you need to rely on Android UI
Automator we work with you doesn't give
you the solution to get the properties
of embedded objects like webview
moreover there is also bugs reported for
APM inspector throwing exception on
Windows 7
to conclude I would say ATM has lot of
amazing features added to test mobile
application specially cross-platform and
mobile cloud testing its integration
with widely used web automation tool
selenium makes APM preferred choice for
mobile test automation thanks for
