tutorial we are going to cover movie
properties this is actually a feature
that was available in all de Bergerac
movie it's available in a new version
iMovie I'm gonna open up by movie and
it's just it's it should be used more
often and sometimes people like overlook
it cuz like when you first create a
project it doesn't really give you that
option to change the like the setting
the full sittings of your project but
let's say here we are doing a new no
theme project and you can name it like
what what even we wanted to my movie
okay and then that's it that's all it
gives you now what if what let's say we
want to edit more now you can I can do
it right here say go straight you as
soon as you you just did you created
your project you select click on your
project there's nothing in it click on
it I don't know why there's like a bug
but when you're moving around like this
it disappears so that's why people
overlook it you want to click on it and
there you are now you have your project
details like you say you'll say where
you've shared it which is not shared how
long it is zero seconds 1080p that's the
quality and then you have the settings
here and let me go on we'll go into this
a lot more and just one second first of
all I might delete this move to trash
now let's say you want to change your
properties movie properties on a project
that you have already been working let's
say you have a movie already been
already been working on a movie and you
want to change the properties on it so
you can go to window and go to movie
properties and then sometimes they won't
work for some reason it won't even pop
up on mine sometimes so what I found out
is you actually have to go over to this
side with your mouse as soon as you have
movie properties that way they'll show
up because as soon as you go over here
you see it disappears it's like this
interrupts with the properties or you
can just put your mouse on this side
here on the side screen and then hit
command J and there you got your movie
properties up which is command J brings
your movie properties up you can see
where you've exported it or if you
export data uni and what it's called how
long it is 18 seconds that's how long
the semi entire like I'm not gonna like
you see I just brought my cursor over
here and it just got rid of my movie
properties I don't know why I think
that's a glitch that they're still
probably working on fixing but yeah I'm
a command J again open up my movie
properties and here we are we're back
it's 1080p eight which is like the
highest quality which is always gonna be
1080p most likely and so now the thing
I'm gonna cover is settings if you go to
settings you can actually change like
the photo placements as soon as you um
let's say you drag a photo into your
project what effect would it have on it
what I do is zoom a crop or a fit and
most of the time I do crop so I'm gonna
keep it a crop I mean it wasn't soon so
I'm gonna change it to crop and now I'm
gonna cover images in a later tutorial
to fully explain how images work and
what you can do with images in iMovie
but from now we can stay with the fit
crop and I'll explain that in a later
tutorial now the theme this is what you
which you guys saw when we first created
the project you can select their theme
again you can change the theme let's say
you didn't choose one and then that I'm
just gonna leave it no theme because I'd
normally don't use themes and then now
we're gonna get get the automatic
content now the way this works is as
soon as I click this it's gonna add
transitions a different like variety of
transitions in between my clips and
you'll just kind of fix it up a little
bit auto auto fix my transitions and my
titles now like I'm gonna scroll will
show you guys I want you guys to pay
attention right here in between here
like I see I got nothing they're all on
the sides here now I'm gonna hit go over
here hit command J to bring up the
properties again and he would open up my
themes and I'm gonna matter content
select that and there we are as you
notice now I have transitions in my clip
and go back right over here and you'll
be able to see that I actually have
transitions within my clip that I didn't
actually place here myself and you can
see that the auto content just places
around just transitions for you and I
believe they're all different
transitions yeah each
time so I'm gonna go over here again hit
command J go to settings and I'ma
unselected because I don't really want
that get in it because this this here it
changes the settings for all I mean for
that one project let's say like next
time let's say you put in another clip
in here you will already command J
they'll already be taking this in effect
so I don't want it to be always taking
this an effect that's why this is your
movie properties meaning like these are
set for your entire movie not for every
project not for every movie only for
this movie so and then now what this
Clips here basically does is it adjusts
your transition length basically like
how long you want the transition to last
right here you you like that this is
this here is basically when you drag in
a transition well that's that's the the
length of your transition the default
length of your transition here I'm going
to delete this one here for example and
I believe we changed it to 1.5 seconds
no you change it to 2 seconds here and
now I have a two second transition here
and that's that's that's the basic of
that now we have a two second transition
I'm gonna put it back to one second
because that's the normal and default
the clips you don't really need to worry
about it really doesn't change much from
what I've noticed um it's that it's
basically set the default clip duration
that's what it says right here 100
instructions but from but what I believe
it should be is the titles when you try
and put in the titles instead of being
four seconds it should be what you set
it to within the within the settings
here for clips which I don't know
understand why it actually doesn't work
that way so I'm not sure if that's a bug
or a glitch at the moment but that's
what I believe it should be but now it's
always just wouldn't even worry about
Clips the transitions like I just
explained that the trim background music
you really don't need to worry about
that either um neither for now but I do
believe there should be a lot more
options in the movie properties to
improve our project to make it
to edit but other than that because I
