Blue Screen in iMovie 10.0.1 Pt. 2 | Tutorial 22 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

that but welcome back to Grand conformo
films we're going to be continuing our
iMovie tutorials and as you just saw
this little weird kind of clip here
actually showed you guys when I did the
blue screen effect and I had just a blue
screen it's not really a blue screen
it's kind of like a really cheap
makeshift blue screen i just made but
also it really didn't turn out the way I
wanted because I did record this at
night and I needed like daylight to
record it and it was just it was a whole
mess so I was trying to make it work and
it kind of worked but you could
definitely tell tell it's a blue screen
or something's behind me with that
little effect to the right to the left I
guess it would be to the left of me
right about there on the right-hand side
I'm area and then also I showed you guys
the image I used and there but let me
show you guys like you this is how green
green / blue screen works I I feel weird
saying blue screen because normally is
it's actually seems like it would be
green screen but honestly on the reason
why they have actually they actually I'm
go to adjustments and go down to my
green blue screen yeah the reason they
have green and blue screen knowledge
let's say you're wearing something green
then you'd want to use a blue screen
let's say you're wearing something blue
then you're gonna want to use a green
screen that's the main reason because
then your clothes end up disappearing
and you're like running around like
you're floating apparently because
you're you wore green pants and you're
using a green screen and old sudden
you're floating you know I don't know if
you guys know what I mean but if you
seen the movie anchorman 2 there's a
little bit of a clip of that one that
got dizzy when one of them is doing I
actually haven't seen the movie himself
I just I just remember seeing a trailer
is that girl one of the guys Islam his
pants are like disappeared because
there's a green screen behind him or
blue I forgot which screen they use but
is it cuz I only son trailer book and
he's all it's a 93 and he's awful
laughing and crying at the same time
it's a 93 but yeah you should check out
that trailer for anchorman 2 i'm not
this isn't like I'm not trying to
advertise for them or anything like them
just it's just a good example of why
they why they have green and blue screen
so yeah also in this normally you'll be
able to use the green blue screen
is because you want to like add
additional items in the background as
well like make it look more realistic
sometimes you'll have a background
that's also moving around as you can see
my background is only an image that way
it's if it was only an image or problem
than good if I like removed all the
people back from back there then I
looked kind of real and that it may be
some weather to it or something then you
can make it really look like as if i was
there which is this is actually I
believe this image is from the in Russia
the the Red Square yeah I believe that's
what it is but that's this video this
total isn't about the image this is a
about the green screen itself in the
blue screen now like I said I use the
blue screen here it's really dark as you
can see in the original clip and my
head's going back and forth but it's a
really dark I had to actually enhance it
and add a conditional color to it that
way I can actually make the blue screen
affected like visible and I as you can
see once I did select the blue screen
green screen I had to actually adjust
and remove parts that I didn't really
need because as you can see right here
there's more of the blue that's still in
the footage and then I also had to use
the effect to actually delete some of
this extra stuff but instance got rid of
my face so I had hate using one of my
command control I mean my what's what
did I calming a command keys to actually
undo if I actually got rid of my face I
hit command Z to undo and I try to get
the right color that when my face was
still there but none of this extra stuff
so instead I was I ended up actually
cropping it out and actually did turn
out pretty well i cropped it out and but
it still didn't get rid of all of it
that's because I don't have a
professional blue screen and background
plus it was really different shades of
you can see different shades of blue and
dark in here so the program really
didn't know what to actually take out of
the video and what to keep in to make it
that blue green screen effect to it but
you can see in some of the parts like
right here at the beginning it looks
really really well done actually looks
like I'm there's nothing no blue no
nothing in a way and I'm actually there
you can see that help work but yeah them
like i said i'm actually delete these so
I
to keep messing with them it was just
for an example showing you guys the
image that I used it for the background
and to actually illustrate that in a
better way but yeah like I said up a
moving background like let's use another
video here that way it's like people
moving in the background and you're as
if you were there recording yourself
doing that as well I mean as if you were
you were actually there and it seems
actually live and I did not mean
actually play that book my turn down
this volume though and don't interrupt
myself again and you let me um I'm gonna
actually if I had this clip here I would
actually show you guys but yeah um if
you you're kind of lost it what I just
been talking about but be sure to check
out my previous part part 1 and I
believe its previous tutorial to this of
the iMovie series it's going to be it's
going to definitely explain more as well
this video is to show you guys an
example and you see that's how is it and
I'm going to actually start using blue
screen now i want to say green skin
because it seems normal saying green
screen but um that i found blue screen i
just use you can either use that blue
paper i used paper in my background I
take it to my wall actually and it
actually it works it works good during
the day but don't don't try to use it
during the night especially if you're
indoors you need a lot of light and
which I kind of failed at at this
uncertain clips here but other than that
um that's that's the green screen for
you guys green green / blue screen for
you guys I'm gonna edit it and adjust it
through after you put it in and make
sure which I covered more in the
previous tutorial as well but other than
that I'm going to actually start making
some of my updates with the blue screen
effect i'm going to record them during
the day that way i could put myself and
places that really wasn't and just see
how it turns out and hopefully make some
something out of the book other than

because there are a lot of bugs I'm
