How to Add Audio to Your Project in iMovie 10.0.9 | Tutorial 73 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

hello gents Roker and welcome to North
um today we're going to continue our
iMovie ten point zero point nine
tutorials and in this tutorial I'm going
to show you guys how to add audio and/or
music to your project let's go ahead and
open up my movie make sure you have a
project in an already created go ahead
and open up that project now you can add
audio three different ways you can
either import it straight from an
external drive external flash drive or
from your desktop then or you can get a
straight from your iTunes or your sound
effects in the content library back down
here or you can drag and drop it from
your actual desktop in the audio
straight into your project or event so
let's go ahead and show you guys if you
go to import you'll basically bring up
on a window for you guys and you can
choose your hard drive or external drive
from there the most common way is gonna
be straight from iTunes you go ahead and
click on this itunes icon and then go to
the drop-down when you choose their
playlists for the song you're looking
for or we can actually search it and
then once you've chosen your song go
ahead and simply drag and drop it or
straight into your project now you'll
notice that the entire song gets dropped
you can go ahead and adjust this by
going to the top left hand corner of the
song and then simply dragging and then
you can shorten it and make it to the
portion of the audio that you want it to
be now also sound effects you can find
these they'll take a little bit to load
but once they have reloaded you'll see
here you got to drop down you can find
all of them under effects and you can
just browse all of them and then even
search for something like bail and then
you'll be able to see and several sound
effects available now the last one is
simply you can drag your iMovie over to
the side and if you have any audio or
music saved on your desktop you can go
ahead and just simply drag and drop it
straight to your project or you can drag
it into your event which is highly
recommended that way you'll just import
straight into your event and project now
once you've imported the actual audio it
will show up in your event it will show
up right here as an audio clip just like
this and then you can simply choose a
portion you want and then go ahead and
drag it where you want or if you like
the whole thing you can select at all
and then simply drag it and drop it into
your project just like this but that's
