Affinity Photo Tutorial #01- Getting Started Video Lecture | Affinity Photo Tutorials: Basics to Expert - Professional Skills

I'm doing a new tutorial sort of series
on my channel it's going to be an
affinity tutorial so it's gonna be
affinity photo an affinity designer I'm
starting with affinity photo and this
video is just going to be the affinity
photo basics so when you open up
affinity photo you're greeted with this
window right here and you can scroll
through these are all lessons they they
kind of teach you how to use the program
that they delve deeper and does some of
the things that a findi photo can do
I've looked at them they're pretty
useful if you want to go look at them
you can click not to see the startup
panel or you can just go straight into a
new document which is what I'm going to
do I have it set right here to 1280 by
720 that's just how I set mine up you
can set it to portrait you can format
all of these but if you don't want to
change anything you just hit OK it comes
up with this so when you first open a
thinny photo you're greeted with this
and you can start using your file so you
can export all of your photos here and
start editing them and at the top left
hand corner you will see your personas
their personas will change what your
toolbar is and so there is the photo
persona which is probably the most used
the liquify persona the develop persona
and the export persona so in the photo
persona this is your toolbar and another
video I will be delving deeper into
these tools and in the liquefy persona
you have to select a pixel layer so you
can't look at that but and just same
thing with the develop persona and the
export persona is just these tools so
let's just export stuff so we'll just
stay on the photo persona for now so as
I said before at the left hand corner is
your personas and here on the left hand
side is your tools
at the top these are all your balancing
so it's just affecting Auto things so
it's you don't have to do any of the
work these are all selection variants so
select all unselect all and invert
selection these are quick masks and this
is a snapping tool and this is assistant
options there's also some layer
selection up here and on the right hand
side over here is all of your tabs so
there's brushes you can choose from
swatches color histogram there's
adjustments and there's all these
different adjustments you can do there's
layers there's effects style stock so
you could choose all these different
things right here there's also the
transform Navigator history and channels
so in deeper videos I will be showing
deeper functions of these and hopefully
it'll be a good series I'll show you
various things and how to change certain
things in photos edit certain things in
photos and I think will be really fun
