hey guys ampere bringing you another
affinity designer tutorial and in this
tutorial we'll be going over how to
create a neon glow text effect so what I
have started with is a black background
but I cannot very well see the text
another type if it's on the black
background comes out black so I'm gonna
type below and reselect the background
so what I have done with this text here
is I have changed the color of the
stroke to something almost white
something off-white and I have changed
the stroke to a very very prominent
color so I picked pink we can come over
to stroke and we need to make sure that
the drop behind fill is selected so that
when we scale the text up that effect
happens so now that we have this glow
we're gonna come and we can convert to
curves so now all of these are
individual shapes so the G of the LDO
and the W are all different shapes we
can now select all of these and we can
ungroup them now when we ungroup them
they all become their own individual
distinct shapes this is what we want
we're going to come then up to layer
come down to expand a stroke so now all
of their strokes are their own we want
to group them or control G and then we
want to regroup all of the fill
now I have a layer that is just the
stroke and a layer that is just the fill
so what we want is to come down to FX
and add a Gaussian blur we can put this
fairly high up and as now it's sort of
glows and it kind of has a sort of neon
glow ish effect but we want something
more and we gonna come down to the fill
layer FX Gaussian blur but we're only
gonna put it up about say like 1.5
pixels and now it has a sort of glow
effect but we want so this is this this
would be good if you wanted to just
leave it here but if you want a little
more prone effect you can hit command J
and if this is too much you can then
bring the opacity down so maybe 80% so
that is the neon text effect you can
obviously download neon fonts if you
want to make the different fonts well
this it works with every font it just
depends on how good it would look with
each letter if you ever wanted to change
it you can add an HSL adjustment and
then just change whatever color you want
here we can you have an HSN justement
and sort of shift the color so maybe you
want it orange and then whatever you do
if you ever want to change it again you
can just click on the icon change it so
that is the glow effect infinity
designer or a sort of neon text effect
