Ans. Addition is a basic mathematical operation that combines two or more numbers to find their total or sum.

2. How do you perform addition?

Ans. To perform addition, you simply add the numbers together. Start by aligning the numbers vertically, with the ones place lined up. Add the digits in the ones place and write the sum below. Then, move to the next place value (tens, hundreds, etc.) and repeat the process until all place values have been added.

Ans. Sure! Let's say we want to add 5 and 3. By aligning the numbers vertically, we get: 5 + 3 ----- 8 So, 5 plus 3 equals 8.

4. Are there any rules for addition?

Ans. Yes, there are some rules for addition in mathematics. The commutative property of addition states that changing the order of the numbers being added does not change the sum. For example, 2 + 3 is the same as 3 + 2, and the result is 5 in both cases. The associative property of addition states that when adding three or more numbers, the grouping of the numbers does not affect the sum. For example, (2 + 3) + 4 is the same as 2 + (3 + 4), and the result is 9 in both cases.

5. How is addition related to real-life situations?

Ans. Addition is widely used in real-life situations. For example, if you go shopping and want to know the total cost of multiple items, you would use addition to add up the prices. When calculating your monthly expenses, addition helps you find the total amount spent. Additionally, if you have a certain number of objects and want to know how many you will have if you add more, you would use addition.
