| 1. What is the CAT exam and what does it stand for? |  |
Ans. The CAT exam, which stands for Common Admission Test, is a national-level management entrance exam conducted in India. It is a computer-based test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to various postgraduate management programs.
| 2. What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CAT exam? | |
Ans. To be eligible for the CAT exam, a candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Reserved category candidates are given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam.

Ans. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can make for the CAT exam. A candidate can appear for the exam as many times as they want, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria.
| 4. What is the exam pattern and duration of the CAT exam? | |
Ans. The CAT exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes, with 60 minutes allotted to each section. The exam is conducted in a computer-based format.

Ans. The CAT exam is scored on a percentile basis. The raw scores obtained by the candidates are converted into a scaled score, and then a percentile score is calculated based on the performance of all the candidates. After the exam, the selection process usually involves shortlisting candidates based on their CAT scores, followed by Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds conducted by the respective IIMs or other participating institutes.
