Accent Training Lesson no 03 : Pronunciation of Vowel sound /e?/ Video Lecture

hi this is Seema and today i will be
bringing you a new lesson on vowel
sounds well I'm sure you've gone through
the previous sessions on the first two
vowel sounds namely the long e sound and
the short I or the Y sound
today I will be teaching you a new vowel
sound the third session on the session
the series of wild sounds namely the a
sound
well the phonetic symbol looks like the
e I this is what you will normally see
in your dictionary when you are
pronouncing words with the a sound the
pronunciation however is an a so it's
not an the symbol is e I but the
pronunciation of these Val silent sounds
is a clear a okay well now your RA you
know some common spelling patterns for
this vowel sound which is the a sound
well there are exceptions to this rule
but these common spelling patterns give
you a brief idea as to the main words
which could be spelled which could be
pronounced with this vowel sound okay
moving on to the first spelling pattern

which means most words which have an a
followed by a consonant and an e after
the continent always produce the vowel

followed by the T so it would be so much
easier if this word was spelt ayt
because then you wouldn't need vowel
sounds to aid you but because English is
not pronounced like it is spelled we
have the e IgH being replaced by the a
sound forward by the t's that is the

also discussed that in very less common
cases the a at the beginning also gives
me the a sound and therefore this word
is angels okay moving on to the next
word pair which is gray okay so that's
the girl it's gray but it's not the ey

like this word has to remain silent so

word pair which is April and Asia
well we're again referring to the less
common words beginning with the a
producing the a sound so we have an
April in Asia
so both the A's at the beginning of both
words give me the
a sound moving on to the next set of
words we already know that the e IG H is
not I or an a it is an a so the EIG H
gives me the a sound and we have at ey
so that's 80 okay so if the word was
pronounced was spelled as a yty it would
be much easier to pronounce
but because we now know that the EIG H
is replaced by the a sound this word is
pronounced as a T same for the word
eight the a is pronounced as the a sound
ending with the T so that is eight well
now we will move on to some sentences
with the same sound which will give you
some more practice to make you more
perfect with its pronunciation all right

has the principle of an a B followed by
the consonant again followed by the e so
I delete the spelling should have been a

easier for me to pronounce but
