| 1. What are solutions and mixtures? |  |

Ans. The main difference between a solution and a suspension is the size of the particles involved. In a solution, the particles of the solute are completely dissolved and cannot be seen with the naked eye. In contrast, a suspension contains larger particles that are not dissolved but instead dispersed in the solvent. These particles can be seen and will eventually settle down over time if left undisturbed.

Ans. Air is considered a mixture. It is a combination of various gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and others. These gases are not chemically bonded together and can be separated by physical means. Therefore, air is classified as a mixture rather than a solution.
