Knowing Our Numbers (Lecture - 3) - Math, Class 6 Video Lecture

hello everyone and welcome to the
chapter one knowing your numbers
mathematic standard sixth today we'll be
discussing the first subtopic comparing
numbers from the chapter 1 knowing your
numbers the subtopics includes
comparison between two numbers ascending
and descending order so let me take up
the first subtopic comparison between
two numbers the house let me take an
example of the number I have taken up
two numbers 92 and 392 let me arrange
this number with their number of digits
92 contains two number of digits 392
contains three number of digits so for
comparison we have one rule let's say
rule number one this rule says that the
number
with higher number
of the Jets
is greater than the other
okay so in this two numbers 392 has
three number of digits
and 92 has two number of digits so as 3
is greater than 2 or three number of
digits is greater than two we can say
that 392 is greater than 2 so quickly
you can even take this following example
okay so if I apply the rule number one
here I understand that in 448 440 tape
it has three numbers of digits 8,000 569
has to number of four numbers of digits
sorry so I could clearly says that 8560
nine is greater than 448 similarly if I
take this example it can clearly states
that 568 contains three numbers of
digits and 86 contains two numbers of
teaching so 568 is greater than 86 same
if I take an example of this 864 oh my
god here 864 and 496 both of them
contains three number of digits so rule
number one there is no higher number of
digits both have same number of digits
here
rule number two comes into place a rule
number two comes to rescue so what is
rule number two rule number two says
that if we have same number of digits in
that case compare from the
left most digit

the comparison is unequal that means if
I have two numbers let me take an
example of this only 864 and 496 in that
I have to start comparing from the
leftmost digit which is 8 and 4 so I can
clearly says that if if 8 is greater
than 4 8 64 is greater than 496 this was
our first example with rule number 2 let
me take one more example if I had an
example of 446 and 448 now in this you
can see that the leftmost digit in both
the number is 4 the second left digit is
again 4 but here you can see that 6 is
smaller than 8 that means I can say that
440 a is a greater number than 446 so
quickly we will go to one more third
example 888 888 so here you can see here
the first digit is a 8 here the first
digit is 0 which clearly says that 888
is greater than 0 88 or simply 88
because if I append a zero across any
two-digit number it actually gives me a
two-digit number and not a three-digit
number hope the first subtopic

to let me go to the second sub topic
which is ascending and descending order
explain ascending and descending order
let me take a collection of numbers
okay now the numbers are given to you so
I asked you to arrange this number from
smaller to become
so here you can see that though 0 88
contains 3 digit number but actually 0
in the leftmost position does not make
any meaning
so 88 comes first
then comes 92 because it has least
number of digits then comes three 92
then comes four four eight six with four
number of digits and then comes eight
nine two five nine that is eighty-nine
thousand two hundred and fifty nine so I
have arranged the number from smaller to
bigger this type of orderliness is known
as ascending order
so whenever a collection of numbers are
given if I arrange the numbers from
smaller to a bigger number I am
arranging the numbers in an ascending
order so then what we call what is
bigger to smaller arrangement coil so if
I have to arraign the same numbers from
bigger to smaller you can clearly says
that 9,000 is greater than 4 is greater
than 392 is greater than 92 is greater
than 88
so when I arrange the numbers from
bigger to smaller I'm actually arranging
the number in descending order so I hope
