are going to take a look at the
published panel the published panel
controls the state and publication
settings of your content you can choose
to save your post as a draft so you can
work on it later or you can choose to
preview your post and see what it'll
look like when published status shows
the state of your post pending review
means the post is waiting to be approved
by an editor or administrator prior to
publication draft means the post is
still being worked on and has not yet
been published or submitted for review
the visibility settings determines the
display behavior of the posts public
posts will be visible to everyone as
well as showing up in searches and RSS
feeds
checking the sticky box will enable your
post to be stuck to the top of the blog
listing by default WordPress displays
blog posts in reverse chronological
order so the newest post is always at
the top in existing posts gets pushed
down as newer content is published by
checking the sticky option your post
will no longer be pushed down even when
there is new content to unstick a post
simply uncheck the Box
password-protected posts are still
published to your blog however users
will need to enter a password specified
here to gain access to the content of
the post private posts are only visible
to users that have editor or
administrator roles on your web site in
private posts are invisible to the
general public as well as users with the
role of author contributor or follower
private posts will not show up in
searches or RSS feeds the main
difference between private and
password-protected post is visitors in
all user roles on your website will know
the existence of a password-protected
post as it still gets published to your
blog page however they are not able to
access the content without the specified
password visitors to your website and
anyone with author contributor or
follower roles on your site will not
know the existence of private posts it's
also worth mentioning a post can be
private without being password protected
by default your post will be published
straightaway
however you can schedule a post to be
published automatically in the future
you can also back date your posts by
setting the publish date to the past
when you back data post the post will
still be published straightaway however
the publish date shown on the post will
be whatever you specified in these
settings very useful for cheating any
deadlines you may have missed
when make any changes to the status
visibility or date of your post either
click OK to finalize or cancel to undo
all changes after you're done
configuring these settings click publish
WordPress will publish your post and
you'll be able to see the new post at
the top of your blog page next we'll
