welcome back now that you've learned
about the first type of contents in
WordPress posts it's time to learn about
the second type of content in WordPress
pages first we'll have a look at the
pages interface using the left
navigation hover over pages and click
add new
you'll find this interface almost
identical to the posts interface the
only difference being instead of post
format category in tags there is a new
panel called page attributes
just like before screen options allow
you to toggle which panels you'd like to
see as well as setting the interface to
display in one column or two columns and
all panels are collapsible and movable
the pages interface includes the title
field the editor published panel page
attributes and featured image panels
you'll be familiar with the title field
editor publish and featured image panels
as we've gone over them in previous
videos the page attributes panel lets us
set parameters for the page you'll
recall that pages do not use categories
and tags because pages are hierarchical
the parent drop-down allows us to
arrange pages in hierarchies so if we
choose a parent the current page will be
nested under the selected page depending
on the theme you're using you may have
custom templates you can use to present
your pages differently when you create a
page it will appear on the top
navigation bar usually the pages are
ordered alphabetically but you can
override that by entering a number here
