the forest is a habitat with many trees
and plants most forests get a lot of
rain are warm in the summer and are cold
in the winter plants and animals have to
find a way to live in this habitat some
bears live through the cold winters by
sleeping in a warm place many birds fly
away to warmer areas when the weather
turns cold even the trees in a forest
find a way to live in the cold the shape

up on its branches many kinds of trees
live in a forest some lose their leaves
in the winter and some stay green all
year long plenty of trees grow tall so
that their leaves get all the Sun they
need to make food bushes like these

trees many animals in the forest use
trees for shelter
squirrels make their nest in trees and
raccoons hide inside holes in trees
other animals like bears and foxes find
shelter in caves or between rocks or in
a hole called a den the forest has
enough food for many kinds of animals
woodpeckers eat insects off of trees
raccoons can find fish in rivers or
ponds and many animals find nuts and
berries on plants and on the ground
animals need water too where do they
find it most of the time animals can get
water from lakes rivers or streams in
the forest animals also get water from
plants like the grass or berries they
eat lots of rain in the forest helps
trees and plants to grow so that there
is enough food and water for many
animals
