Discussed Questions
Puneet Sharma asked   •  5 hours ago

Consider the following sets:
P = {x: x is a letter of the word ‘BLOW}’
Q = {x: x is a letter of the word ‘FLOW’}
R = {x: x is a letter of the word &lsq... more

  • a)
    P ⊂ Q

  • b)
    R ⊆ Q

  • c)
    Q = R

  • d)
    None of these

Correct answer is option 'D'. Can you explain this answer?
?

Divyansh Ghosh answered
Understanding the Sets
Let's first define the sets based on the words provided:
- Set P: Letters in "BLOW"
- P = {B, L, O, W}
- Set Q: Letters in "FLOW"
- Q = {F, L, O, W}
- Set R: Letters in "SLOW"
- R = {S, L, O, W}
Analyzing the Options
Now, let's analyze each statement to determine which is false:
- a) P
... more
- This statement is false because P contains the letter 'B', which is not in Q. Therefore, P is not a subset of Q.
- b) R ⊆ Q
- This statement is true. All elements of R (S, L, O, W) are not in Q. However, since S is not in Q, R is not a subset of Q.
- c) Q = R
- This statement is false. The sets Q and R are not equal as they contain different elements (Q has F, while R has S).
- d) None of these
- This implies that all previous statements are true, which is incorrect because both a) and c) are false. Thus, this option is misleading.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the correct analysis shows that options a) and c) are false, making option d) also false. Therefore, the correct interpretation of the question confirms that several statements are incorrect, particularly options a) and c). Thus, option d) stating "None of these" is indeed the false statement.

The value of
  • a)
    zero
  • b)
    1
  • c)
    -1
  • d)
    None of these
Correct answer is option 'A'. Can you explain this answer?

Change this in determinant form you will get two rows are equivalent...
when two rows are equivalent in a determinant then it's value is zero..
