The story "The Lost Child" by Mulk Raj Anand highlights the fact that a child cannot live without his parents. This is illustrated through various incidents in the story.

Incident 1: The Child's Love for his Parents
In the beginning of the story, the child is seen walking with his parents in a village fair. He is fascinated by the sights and sounds of the fair, but he never strays too far away from his parents. This shows that the child has a deep love and attachment towards his parents.

Incident 2: The Child's Fear and Anxiety
When the child sees a toy-seller, he asks his parents to buy him a toy. However, when his parents refuse, he becomes anxious and scared. He fears that he will lose his parents in the crowd and be left alone. This fear and anxiety show that the child is completely dependent on his parents for his sense of security and well-being.

Incident 3: The Child's Despair and Loneliness
When the child accidentally loses sight of his parents in the crowd, he becomes desperate and starts looking for them. However, he is unable to find them and feels lost and alone. He tries to find his way back to his parents, but all his efforts fail. This shows that without his parents, the child feels despair and loneliness.

Incident 4: The Child's Reunion with his Parents
Finally, when the child is reunited with his parents, he feels a sense of relief and happiness. He realizes how much he needs his parents and how lost he was without them. This reunion highlights the fact that a child cannot live without his parents.

Overall, the story "The Lost Child" emphasizes the importance of parental love and care in a child's life. It shows how a child's sense of security, well-being, and happiness is dependent on his parents.
