Velocity can be thought of as speed with direction. The formula for speed is change in distance divided by change in time. The formulafor velocity is change in displacement divided by change in time.

Bhai,Firstly your questions are truly beautiful .Let Me explain to you in a brief manner.
Well,Theoretically if you imagine speed and velocity are both same.Just Velocity is speed involved with direction.
Now, the formula of change in velocity is just Accelaration. THE FORMULA IS SAME TO CALCULATE THE CHANGE IN VELOCITY WHEN THERE IS ANY CHANGE IN DIRECTION. LETS TAKE A GOOD EXAMPLE.
TAKE THE EXAMPLE OF AN UNIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION. HERE WE KNOW SPEED IS SAME BUT THE VELOCITY IS CHANGING AS DIRECTION AT ANY POINT IS CHANGING.
HERE WE CAN WE USE THAT BEAUTIFUL EQUATION
V=OMEGA×R.
NOW V=2PIE.R/T
SO,
2PIE.R/T=OMEGA.R
WHICH IMPLIES
2.PIE/T=OMEGA=ANGULAR VELOCITY..
NOW RATE OF CHANGE IN VELOCITY IS 2.PIE/T^2
HOPE IT HELPS...
