The Ellora Caves are located about 18 miles from the city of Aurangabad in the Chamadari Hills. Pre-historic paintings were engraved in five Ellora caves.

- **Lakhudiyar Caves**: These caves in Uttarakhand have prehistoric rock paintings that are estimated to be from the Mesolithic period.

- **Kakatiya Kala Thoranam**: This ancient gateway in Warangal, Telangana, has beautiful paintings depicting the Kakatiya kingdom's history.

- **Hampi**: The ruins of Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Karnataka, have remnants of paintings from the Vijayanagara Empire.
