A 200m long train crosses a 400m bridge with the velocity of 36km/h . find the time taken by the train to cross the bridge
Verified Answer
A 200m long train crosses a 400m bridge with the velocity of 36km/h . ...
 As first the engine of train enters and then the whole train passes and finally the last point in the train crosses the bridge.
Velocity = 36km/hr = 10m/sec
total distance travelled to cross the bridge = 200m +400m = 600m
speed = distance / time
time = distance / speed
= 600m /10ms-1
= 60 sec.

A 200m long train crosses a 400m bridge with the velocity of 36km/h . ...
Given:
Length of the train (L) = 200m
Length of the bridge (B) = 400m
Velocity of the train (V) = 36km/h

To Find:
Time taken by the train to cross the bridge

Formula:
Time = Distance / Speed

Calculation:
1. Convert the velocity from km/h to m/s.
Velocity in m/s = Velocity in km/h * (1000m / 1km) * (1h / 3600s)
Velocity in m/s = 36 * (1000/1) * (1/3600)
Velocity in m/s = 10 m/s

2. Calculate the total distance the train needs to cover to cross the bridge.
Total distance = Length of train + Length of bridge
Total distance = 200m + 400m
Total distance = 600m

3. Substitute the values into the formula to find the time taken.
Time = Distance / Speed
Time = 600m / 10 m/s
Time = 60 seconds

Answer:
The train takes 60 seconds to cross the 400m long bridge.
