Solution:
Given, diameter of the well = 14m
Radius of the well = 14/2 = 7m
Depth of the well = 49m
Volume of the well = πr^2h
= 22/7 * 7^2 * 49
= 10778 m^3
We need to find the number of cubical blocks of 3.5m side that can be obtained from the soil taken out during the digging of the well.
Volume of each cubical block = (3.5)^3
= 42.875 m^3
Number of blocks = Total volume of soil/Volumes of each block
= 10778/42.875
= 251.2
≈ 251
