Ans.

Dear Diary:
My heart pained so much to see very young children rummaging garbage to collect plastic. How sad! They don’t go to school. Their abject poverty compels them to work so hard at such young age. Their clothes were tattered; they had no shoes on their feet! They seemed to be unmindful of their plight. May be they have become habitual of this impoverishment and miserable existence. The saddest thing about them is they will never get the chance to do well in life. Since they don’t go to schools for lack of resources, their chances of becoming successful are quite bleak. I feel the Government must do something for these poor children. Only Government can invest so much to create education and other basic facilities for them as there are millions of such children in our country.

Dear Diary,

Today, I observed a significant number of street children playing or working in our area. It was a poignant sight that left me feeling a mix of sadness and concern for their well-being. Allow me to describe the children I came across and their circumstances in detail.

The Children:
- Most of the street children appeared to be between the ages of 5 to 15, some even younger.
- Their clothes were tattered and dirty, giving a glimpse of the difficult lives they lead.
- They wore worn-out shoes or were often barefoot, making them vulnerable to injuries and infections.
- Their faces were marked by a mixture of innocence and hardship, reflecting the harsh realities they face on a daily basis.

Their Activities:
- Some of the children were engaged in various forms of work to earn a meager income. They were seen selling trinkets, shining shoes, or begging on the streets.
- Others were engaged in more playful activities, such as playing with makeshift toys, chasing each other, or kicking around a worn-out football.
- It was disheartening to see these children working at such a young age, deprived of their right to education and carefree childhood.

Their Living Conditions:
- The street children seemed to be living in extreme poverty, with no permanent shelter to call home.
- They sought refuge in makeshift tents, abandoned buildings, or simply slept on the pavement.
- Lack of access to basic amenities such as clean water, proper sanitation, and healthcare posed severe health risks for them.
- The absence of adult supervision and guidance exposed them to various dangers, including exploitation and abuse.

Their Resilience:
- Despite their challenging circumstances, the street children displayed incredible resilience and resourcefulness.
- They formed tight-knit communities, looking out for one another and sharing whatever little they had.
- Their laughter and playful interactions provided a glimmer of hope amidst the harsh realities they face.

The Need for Support:
- It is crucial for society to recognize the rights of these street children and provide them with the support they desperately need.
- Initiatives focusing on education, healthcare, and rehabilitation can help break the cycle of poverty and provide them with better opportunities.
- Collaboration between government organizations, NGOs, and the community is essential to address the root causes and protect the rights of these vulnerable children.

In conclusion, witnessing the presence of street children in our area has been a sobering experience. It serves as a reminder of the significant disparities that exist in our society and highlights the urgent need for collective action to improve the lives of these children.

Yours sincerely,
