Calculation of Profit Sharing Ratio

Given Information:

Saraswati and Laxmi are partners in a firm sharing profit in the ratio of 4:1.

Parvati is a new partner who acquired 1/4th share in future profits from Saraswati.

Calculation:

Let's assume the total profit of the firm is 100.

As per the given information:

  • Saraswati's share = 4/5 of total profit = (4/5) x 100 = 80

  • Laxmi's share = 1/5 of total profit = (1/5) x 100 = 20

Parvati acquires 1/4th share in future profits from Saraswati:

  • Parvati's share = 1/4 x 80 = 20

Now, the total profit will be shared in the ratio of 4:1:1.

  • Saraswati's share = 4/6 of total profit = (4/6) x 100 = 66.67

  • Laxmi's share = 1/6 of total profit = (1/6) x 100 = 16.67

  • Parvati's share = 1/6 of total profit = (1/6) x 100 = 16.67

Conclusion:

The profit sharing ratio of Saraswati, Laxmi, and Parvati is 4:1:1.

Saraswati and laxmi are partners in a firm sharing profit in ratio of ...
the new profit sharing ratio of the partners will be 11:4:5
SARASWATI 4/5-1/4=11/20{ as PARVATI getting her share alone from SARASWATI}
MAKE THE DENOMINATORS OF BOTH LAKSHMI AND PARVATI EQUAL TO 20
LAKSHMI 1/5*4/4=4/20
PARVATI 1/4{her share of profit}*5/5=5/20
HENCE the new ratio should be 11/20:4/20:5/20 or 11:4:5
