Total load on the footing = Weight of the column + Weight of the footing = 4 kN + 400 kN = 404 kN

2. Calculation of Lever Arm or Eccentricity:
The lever arm or eccentricity can be calculated as the difference between the centroid of the column and the centroid of the footing.

Centroid of the column = Side/2 = 0.4 m/2 = 0.2 m
Centroid of the footing = Side/2 = 4 m/2 = 2 m
Eccentricity = Centroid of the column - Centroid of the footing = 0.2 m - 2 m = -1.8 m

Note: The negative sign indicates that the column is offset from the center of the footing.

3. Calculation of Design Bending Moment:
M = Q × e
M = 404 kN × (-1.8 m)
M = -727.2 kN-m
