Any of the 2 bulbs are switched on one after the other for a different period of time i.e. one for a longer period and other shorter. Now we go upstairs. The hotter bulb is the one which was turned on for more time and vice-versa. Hence,  the answer is 3rd option.

Solution:
To identify which switch goes to which bulb, we need to follow a systematic approach. Let's break down the steps to solve this problem:

Step 1: Turn on the first switch and leave it on for a few minutes.
Step 2: Turn off the first switch and turn on the second switch.
Step 3: Go to the first floor and observe the bulbs.

Here are the possible scenarios and their corresponding interpretations:

Scenario 1: If one of the bulbs is on and the other two are off:
- The first switch controls the bulb that is on.
- The second switch controls one of the bulbs that is off.
- The third switch controls the remaining bulb that is off.

Scenario 2: If one of the bulbs is on and the other two are still off:
- The first switch controls the bulb that is on.
- The second switch controls one of the bulbs that is off.
- The third switch controls the remaining bulb that is off.

Scenario 3: If all the bulbs remain off:
- The first switch controls the bulb that is off.
- The second switch controls one of the bulbs that is off.
- The third switch controls the remaining bulb that is off.

In all three scenarios, we have successfully identified which switch goes to which bulb by making only one trip to the first floor. Therefore, the minimum number of times that you will have to go from the basement to the first floor is 1 time.

Answer: c) 01 time
