Writing the equation of  combustion of propane (C3H8), we get
From the above equation we find that we need 5 L of oxygen at NTP to completely burn 1 L of propane at N.T.P.
If we change the conditions for both the gases from N.T.P. to same conditions of temperature and pressure. The same results are obtained. i.e. 5 L is the correct answer.

°C and 1 atm pressure is produced by the decomposition of 10 grams of potassium chlorate (KClO3)?

The balanced chemical equation for the decomposition of potassium chlorate is:

2KClO3(s) → 2KCl(s) + 3O2(g)

From the equation, we can see that for every 2 moles of KClO3 that decompose, 3 moles of O2 gas are produced.

First, we need to calculate the number of moles of KClO3 in 10 grams:

molar mass of KClO3 = 39.98 g/mol + 35.45 g/mol + 3(16.00 g/mol) = 122.55 g/mol
moles of KClO3 = mass / molar mass = 10 g / 122.55 g/mol = 0.0816 mol

Since 2 moles of KClO3 produce 3 moles of O2, we can calculate the number of moles of O2 produced:

moles of O2 = (3/2) x moles of KClO3 = (3/2) x 0.0816 mol = 0.1224 mol

Now we can use the ideal gas law to calculate the volume of O2 produced:

PV = nRT

where P = 1 atm, V = volume of O2 gas, n = 0.1224 mol, R = 0.0821 L·atm/mol·K (the gas constant), and T = 273 K (0°C + 273).

Solving for V, we get:

V = nRT/P = (0.1224 mol)(0.0821 L·atm/mol·K)(273 K)/(1 atm) = 2.74 L

Therefore, 10 grams of KClO3 will produce 2.74 liters of O2 gas at 0°C and 1 atm pressure.
