The given system of equations is:
x y = 2 ... (1)
2x 2y = 5 ... (2)

Method:
- We can solve the given system of equations using the elimination method.
- In this method, we try to eliminate one variable from the equations by adding or subtracting the equations.
- We do this in such a way that the coefficients of one variable in both the equations become equal and opposite.
- Once we have eliminated one variable, we can easily solve for the other variable.

Eliminating y:
- To eliminate y, we can multiply equation (1) by 2 and subtract it from equation (2).
- This gives us: 2x - 2x = 5 - 4
- Simplifying the above equation, we get: 0 = 1

Conclusion:
- The equation 0 = 1 is a contradiction.
- This means that the given system of equations has no solution.
