Both Metaphase and Anaphase can be considered as shortest phases of Mitosis in human cells.
These shortest phase which lasts for a maximum of approximately 3 minutes each. However, Anaphase is itself divided into two phases.
Anaphase A: Spindle fibres' shortening takes place and chromatids move towards the poles.
Anaphase B: The centres from which tubulin fibres originate, themselves move away from each other.
Anaphase B might follow Anaphase A or both might take place simultaneously depending upon the cell type.
