The ratio of the number of boys to that of girls in a school is 4: 1. ...
Given:
- Ratio of boys to girls = 4:1
- 75% of boys are scholarship holders
- 70% of girls are scholarship holders

To find: Percentage of students who do not get scholarship

Solution:
Let the total number of students be 5x (4x boys and x girls)

Number of boys who are scholarship holders = 75% of 4x = 3x
Number of boys who are not scholarship holders = 4x - 3x = x
Number of girls who are scholarship holders = 70% of x = 0.7x
Number of girls who are not scholarship holders = x - 0.7x = 0.3x

Total number of students who are scholarship holders = 3x + 0.7x = 3.7x
Total number of students who are not scholarship holders = 5x - 3.7x = 1.3x

Percentage of students who do not get scholarship = (1.3x/5x) x 100%
= 26%

Therefore, the correct answer is option D) 26%.
