Gravity and pressure forces are the forces that influence the problem of fluid static.

Gravity is the force that attracts objects towards the center of the Earth. It plays a significant role in fluid statics as it determines the pressure distribution within a fluid. The weight of the fluid column above a certain point creates a pressure at that point. This pressure is directly proportional to the height of the fluid column and the density of the fluid. The pressure exerted by a fluid at rest increases with depth due to the weight of the fluid above.

Pressure forces act perpendicular to the surfaces of a fluid at rest. In a fluid at rest, the pressure is the same at all points on a horizontal plane. This is because the fluid is in equilibrium and the pressure forces exerted by the fluid cancel each other out. However, the pressure varies with height due to the weight of the fluid column above.

Pressure forces also play a role in determining the buoyant force, which is the upward force exerted on an object submerged in a fluid. The buoyant force is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. This force can either increase or decrease the apparent weight of an object depending on whether the object is denser or less dense than the fluid.

In summary, gravity and pressure forces are the major forces that influence the problem of fluid static. Gravity determines the pressure distribution within a fluid due to the weight of the fluid column above, and pressure forces act perpendicular to the surfaces of a fluid at rest, creating equilibrium and determining the buoyant force.
