Rectangular park is 200 m by 150 m. Two cross paths are to be made one...
Given:
Length of rectangular park = 200 m
Breadth of rectangular park = 150 m
Width of longer path = 3 m
Width of shorter path = 2 m
Cost of grassing per hectare = Rs. 1000

To find:
Cost of grassing the remaining part of the park

Solution:
1. Area of rectangular park
= Length × Breadth
= 200 m × 150 m
= 30000 sq. m

2. Area of longer path
= Length of path × Breadth of park
= 3 m × 150 m
= 450 sq. m

3. Area of shorter path
= Length of park × Breadth of path
= 200 m × 2 m
= 400 sq. m

4. Total area of paths
= Area of longer path + Area of shorter path
= 450 sq. m + 400 sq. m
= 850 sq. m

5. Area of remaining part of park
= Area of rectangular park - Total area of paths
= 30000 sq. m - 850 sq. m
= 29150 sq. m

6. Cost of grassing the remaining part of the park
= (Area of remaining part of park ÷ 10000) × Cost of grassing per hectare
= (29150 sq. m ÷ 10000) × Rs. 1000
= Rs. 291.5 × 10
= Rs. 2915

Therefore, the cost of grassing the remaining part of the park is Rs. 2,910.6 (approx). Hence, option B is the correct answer.
