Solution:

Given,
Temperature at generator (Tg) = 360 K
Temperature at ambient (Ta) = 310 K
Temperature at evaporator (Te) = 260 K
New temperature at evaporator (Te') = 250 K
COP of the system is constant (i.e., same)

Formula:
COP = Te / (Tg - Te)

From the above equation,
(Tg - Te) / Te = constant

(Tg - Te)1 / Te1 = (Tg - Te)2 / Te2 (where 1 represents initial conditions and 2 represents final conditions)

Now, we need to find Tg2 such that COP remains the same.

(Tg2 - Te2) / Te2 = (Tg1 - Te1) / Te1

(Tg2 - 250) / 250 = (360 - 260) / 260

Tg2 = 374.9 K

Therefore, the generator temperature should be 374.9 K in order to operate the system with the same COP when the evaporator temperature falls to 250 K.
