Given that the length of the rectangle is halved and its breadth is tripled.

Therefore, new length = L/2
And new breadth = 3B

The new area of the rectangle can be calculated as:

New Area = (L/2) * 3B
New Area = (3/2) LB

The percentage change in area can be calculated as:

Increase in area = New area - Old area
Increase in area = (3/2) LB - LB
Increase in area = (1/2) LB

Percentage increase in area = (Increase in area / Old area) * 100%
