since it is a function take it as
[ ½ –ax ] with upper limit as 4 and lower limit as 0

by doing so you will get, [1/2 -4a]-[0-0]

=1/2-4a

=>1/2 = 4a
by taking 4 to the other side by cross multiplying, you get..
=>1/8 = a
