When 15n, where n is a positive integer, is divided by 6, the remainde...
To find the value of x, we need to determine the remainder when 15n is divided by 6.

Statement 1: When n is divided by 2, the remainder is 0.
This means n is an even number, and we can write it as n = 2k, where k is a positive integer.
Substituting this into the expression 15n, we get 15n = 15(2k) = 30k.
Dividing 30k by 6 gives us a remainder of 0, so x = 0.
Statement 1 alone is sufficient to answer the question.

Statement 2: When n is divided by 3, the remainder is 0.
This means n is a multiple of 3, and we can write it as n = 3m, where m is a positive integer.
Substituting this into the expression 15n, we get 15n = 15(3m) = 45m.
Dividing 45m by 6 gives us a remainder of 3, so x = 3.
Statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Combining both statements, we know that n is both even and a multiple of 3, so it must be a multiple of 6 (since 6 is the least common multiple of 2 and 3).
Therefore, we can write n = 6p, where p is a positive integer.
Substituting this into the expression 15n, we get 15n = 15(6p) = 90p.
Dividing 90p by 6 gives us a remainder of 0, so x = 0.
Both statements together are also sufficient to answer the question.

Therefore, the correct answer is option A: Exactly one of the statements can answer the question.

When 15n, where n is a positive integer, is divided by 6, the remainde...
Taking only 1) n would be an even positive integer(2,4,6...) and hence 15n would always be divisible by 6 i.e. remainder would be 0. Therefore Sufficient

Taking only 2) n would be a multiple of 3(3,6,9...) and thus if n =3 then 15n is 45 and remainder is 3, but if n=6, then 15n is 90 and remainder is 0. Thus, not Sufficient.
