Verified Answer
The ages of Mohan and Sohan are in the ratio 9 : 7. Ten years ago thei...
Let Mohan’s age = 9x
and Sohan’s age = 7x
10, years ago,
Mohan’s age = 9x – 10
Sohan’s age = 7x – 10

⇒ 45x – 50 = 49x – 70
⇒ 4x = 20 ⇒ x = 5
∴ Mohan’s age = 9 × 5 = 45
and Sohan’s age = 7 × 5 = 35
Hence difference = 45 – 35 = 10 years

The ages of Mohan and Sohan are in the ratio 9 : 7. Ten years ago thei...
Let the required ages be X.q
Ratio is 9:7
so,9x and 7x.
Mohan's age is 9x and Sohan's age is 7x.
Mohan's age is 9x-10 and Sohan's age is 7x-10.

A.T.P.
9x- 10 + 7x- 10 = 7x- 5x
= 9x+7x-7x-5x = 10+10
= 4x = 20
= x = 20÷4
= x = 5

Mohan's age = 9x = 9×5 = 45
Sohan's age = 7x = 7×5 = 35.

Hence,

The difference between Mohan's and sohan's age is = 45 - 35 = 10.

The ages of Mohan and Sohan are in the ratio 9 : 7. Ten years ago thei...
Given:
The ages of Mohan and Sohan are in the ratio 9:7.
Ten years ago, their ages were in the ratio 7:5.

To find:
The difference between their present ages.

Solution:
Let's assume the present ages of Mohan and Sohan as 9x and 7x respectively.

Step 1: Ten years ago
Ten years ago, Mohan's age = 9x - 10
Ten years ago, Sohan's age = 7x - 10

According to the given ratio, we have:
(9x - 10)/(7x - 10) = 7/5

Step 2: Cross-multiplication
Cross-multiplying the equation, we get:
5(9x - 10) = 7(7x - 10)

Simplifying the equation, we get:
45x - 50 = 49x - 70

Step 3: Solving the equation
Bringing the x terms to one side and the constant terms to the other side, we get:
49x - 45x = 70 - 50
4x = 20
x = 5

Step 4: Finding their present ages
Mohan's present age = 9x = 9 * 5 = 45 years
Sohan's present age = 7x = 7 * 5 = 35 years

Step 5: Finding the difference
Difference between their present ages = 45 - 35 = 10 years

Therefore, the difference between their present ages is 10 years. Option B is the correct answer.
