Given, Nidhi purchased two sarees for rs.2150 each.
Let the selling price of the first saree be x.
Then, the selling price of the second saree will be (2150 + y) where y is the gain percent.
Given, Nidhi had a gain of rs.1230 on the whole transaction.
Therefore, we can write the following equation:
Selling price of first saree - 8% of 2150 + Selling price of second saree + y = 4300
Substituting the values, we get:
x - 0.08 * 2150 + 2150 + y = 4300
x - 172 + 2150 + y = 4300
x + y = 2322 -----(1)
Also, we know that the selling price of the first saree is less than the cost price, i.e., there is a loss of 8%.
Therefore, we can write:
x - 0.08 * 2150 = 2150 - 172 = 1978
x = 1978 + 172 = 2150
Substituting the value of x in equation (1), we get:
2150 + y = 2322
y = 2322 - 2150
y = 172
Therefore, the selling price of the second saree is rs. 2150 + 172 = rs. 2322.
Hence, the selling price of the second saree is rs. 2322.
