Verified Answer
The cost price of a set of 2 pants + 4 shirts or 1 pants + 6 shirts is...
Let the cost price of one shirt is Rs. S and that of one pant is Rs. P.
2P + 4S = 5600      ----(1)
P + 6S = 5600       ----(2)
Multiplying the second equation with 2 and subtracting the first equation from it:
⇒ (12S - 4S) = 5600
∴ S = 700
Putting the value of S in eq (2):
∴ P = (5600 - 4200) = 1400
Sell Price of 10 shirts = Rs. 6000
∴ Sell price of 1 shirt = Rs. 600
Cost Price of one shirt = Rs. 700
∴ Loss suffered = Rs. (700 - 600) = Rs. 100

The cost price of a set of 2 pants + 4 shirts or 1 pants + 6 shirts is...
Understanding the Cost Price
The cost price is given for two scenarios:
- **2 pants + 4 shirts = Rs. 5,600**
- **1 pants + 6 shirts = Rs. 5,600**
To find the cost of one shirt and one pant, we can set up equations.

Setting Up the Equations
Let:
- **P = Cost price of one pant**
- **S = Cost price of one shirt**
From the first scenario:
- **2P + 4S = 5600** (Equation 1)
From the second scenario:
- **P + 6S = 5600** (Equation 2)

Simplifying the Equations
From Equation 2:
- **P = 5600 - 6S**
Substituting P in Equation 1:
- **2(5600 - 6S) + 4S = 5600**
- **11200 - 12S + 4S = 5600**
- **11200 - 8S = 5600**
- **8S = 11200 - 5600**
- **8S = 5600**
- **S = 700**
Now substituting S back to find P:
- **P = 5600 - 6(700)**
- **P = 5600 - 4200**
- **P = 1400**

Calculating Selling Price and Profit/Loss
The shopkeeper sold 10 shirts for Rs. 6,000:
- **Selling Price per shirt = 6000 / 10 = 600**
Cost Price per shirt is Rs. 700:
- **Loss = Cost Price - Selling Price = 700 - 600 = 100**
Thus, the shopkeeper incurs a loss of Rs. 100 per shirt.

Conclusion
The correct answer is:
- **Loss Rs. 100 (Option D)**.
