A carrier is phase modulated (PM) with frequency deviation of 10 KHz.b...
Given:
Frequency deviation (Δf) = 10 KHz
Single tone frequency (f) = 1 KHz

To find: Bandwidth of PM signal when f is increased to 2 KHz

Formula used:
Bandwidth (BW) = 2(Δf + f)

Calculation:
When f = 1 KHz,
BW = 2(Δf + f)
= 2(10 KHz + 1 KHz)
= 22 KHz

When f = 2 KHz,
BW = 2(Δf + f)
= 2(10 KHz + 2 KHz)
= 24 KHz

Therefore, the bandwidth of the PM signal when the single tone frequency is increased to 2 KHz is 44 KHz (22 KHz + 24 KHz).

Hence, option (d) is the correct answer.
