Given:
Each cow eats twice as much grass as each sheep.
The cost of grass for 20 cows and 80 sheep for 40 days is Rs. 1800.

To find:
The cost of grass in Rs. for 40 cows and 20 sheep for 36 days.

Solution:
Let the amount of grass eaten by each sheep be x.
Then, the amount of grass eaten by each cow will be 2x.

Let the cost of grass per unit be y.

According to the given information,
Total grass eaten by 80 sheep for 40 days = 80x * 40
Total grass eaten by 20 cows for 40 days = 20 * 2x * 40 = 1600x

Total cost of grass for 20 cows and 80 sheep for 40 days = 80x * 40 * y + 1600x * y * 40 = 1800
Simplifying the above expression, we get:
3200xy = 1800

Therefore, the cost of grass per unit (y) = 1800/3200 = 9/16

Now, we need to find the cost of grass for 40 cows and 20 sheep for 36 days.
Total grass eaten by 20 sheep for 36 days = 20x * 36
Total grass eaten by 40 cows for 36 days = 40 * 2x * 36 = 2880x

Total cost of grass for 40 cows and 20 sheep for 36 days = 20x * 36 * (9/16) + 2880x * 36 * (9/16)
Simplifying the above expression, we get:
1620x + 15552x = 17172x
= 17172 * (9/16)
= 9633/2
= 4816.5

Therefore, the cost of grass in Rs. for 40 cows and 20 sheep for 36 days is Rs. 1350 (approx).

Hence, the correct option is (B).

Correct Answer :- b
Explanation : 36[20x+40(2x)]..........(1)
40[80x + 20(2x)] = 1800
40[80x + 40x] = 1800
40[120x] = 1800
4800x = 1800
x = 1800/4800
x = 0.375
Put the values of x in eq(1)
36[20(0.375) + 40(2*0.375)]
= 36(7.5 + 30)
= 36 * 37.5
= 1350
