x + 2y + 3z=S ...(i)
2jc + 3j + z = 5 ...(ii)
Eliminating x,
y + 5z= 11
From Statement A alone
x, y, z are non-negative integers y + 5z = 11
For z = 0,y = 11
F o r z = l , y = 6
Forz = 2, y = 1
Substituting values o fy and z in each o f these cases in equation (i)
we get values o f x as - 14, -7 and 0.
∴ (x,y,z) = (0, 1,2)
∴ Statement A is sufficient to answer the question.
From Statement B alone
(x, y, z) can have multiple values.
∴ Statement B is not sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, option 1.

Understanding the Problem
The question asks for the values of x, y, and z given two equations. We need to analyze the provided statements to determine the information they supply.
Equations Given
1. x + 2y + 3z = 8
2. 2x + 3y + z = 5
Statement A: Non-Negative Integers
- This statement specifies that x, y, and z must be non-negative integers.
- Knowing this, we can explore various combinations of x, y, and z that satisfy both equations while adhering to the non-negativity constraint.
- For example, using trial and error within the constraints, we may find suitable values that work.
Statement B: Distinct Values
- This statement asserts that x, y, and z must have distinct values.
- However, it does not provide any additional constraints regarding the sign or limits of their values (i.e., they can be negative, zero, or positive).
- As such, the distinctness alone does not help us in finding unique integer solutions to the equations.
Conclusion
- Since Statement A provides a specific constraint (non-negative integers), it allows us to solve the equations effectively.
- Statement B, while informative, does not help to directly solve the equations without further information.
Thus, we can conclude that the correct option is (1), as the question can be answered using Statement A alone but not by using Statement B alone.
