Verified Answer
By Selling 4 articles for 1 rupee, a man losses 50%. Had he sold 2 art...
For first case, SP = 1/4 per article
CP = SP + loss = 1/4 + 50%(CP) = 1/4 + CP/2
⇒ CP/2 = 1/4
⇒ CP = Rs 1/2
Now, for second part,
⇒ SP = Rs. 1/2 per article.
⇒ Profit = SP - CP = 1/2 - 1/2 = 0

By Selling 4 articles for 1 rupee, a man losses 50%. Had he sold 2 art...
Given:
Selling price of 4 articles = 1 rupee
Loss = 50%
To Find:
Profit percentage when 2 articles are sold for 1 rupee

Solution:

Loss Percentage = (Cost Price - Selling Price)/Cost Price * 100

Given, Loss Percentage = 50%

Let the cost price of 4 articles be x rupees

Selling Price of 4 articles = 1 rupee

Selling Price of 1 article = 1/4 rupee

Cost Price of 1 article = x/4 rupee

Loss Percentage = (x/4 - 1/4)/(x/4) * 100

50 = (x-1)/x * 100

x = 2

Therefore, cost price of 4 articles = 2 rupees

If 2 articles are sold for 1 rupee, then the selling price of 1 article = 1/2 rupee

Profit Percentage = (Selling Price - Cost Price)/Cost Price * 100

Selling Price of 1 article = 1/2 rupee

Cost Price of 1 article = 2/4 = 1/2 rupee

Profit Percentage = (1/2 - 1/2) / (1/2) * 100

Profit Percentage = 0%

Hence, the answer is option D, 0%.
