    's double-slit experiment is formed at a distance of 3.5 cm from the central maximum. If the distance between the slits is 0.1 mm and the wavelength of light used is 500 nm, what is the distance between adjacent bright fringes?

    We can use the formula for the position of the bright fringes in the double-slit experiment:

    y = mλD/d

    where y is the distance from the central maximum to the mth bright fringe, λ is the wavelength of light, D is the distance from the slits to the screen, d is the distance between the slits, and m is the order of the bright fringe.

    We know that m = 7, y = 3.5 cm = 0.035 m, λ = 500 nm = 5 × 10^-7 m, and d = 0.1 mm = 10^-4 m. We can solve for D:

    D = yd/(mλ) = (0.035 × 10^-4)/(7 × 5 × 10^-7) = 1.0 m

    Now we can use the formula for the distance between adjacent bright fringes:

    Δy = λD/d = 5 × 10^-7 × 1.0 / 10^-4 = 5 × 10^-3 m = 5 mm

    Therefore, the distance between adjacent bright fringes is 5 mm.
