is viscosity and density same thing's Related: Viscosity (in detail)?
There is no relationship between the viscosity and density of a fluid. While viscosity is the thickness or thinness of a fluid, density refers to the space between its particles. However, both properties are affected by temperature. When a fluid is heated, its particles move far apart, and it also becomes less viscous.

Density and viscosity are quite different from each other although they are fundamental properties of any liquid.

- Density is a property of all states of matter (solids, liquids and gases) but viscosity is a property which only fluid have (especially liquids). The reason why only fluids have viscosity is that force viscous force to act they must be some flow (or) to say only some flow causes viscous force. Since there is no such flow in solids so there is no topic of viscosity in solids. Also, in gases this is very negligible which is discussed in the next point.

- They are quite different on how they are defined. Density is defined as the mass per unit volume whereas viscosity is defined as the resistive force acting on a body which is freely falling inside a liquid. But don't confuse viscosity with buoyant force. Buoyancy is acting because of the pressure acting on the submerged part of the body, from the liquid and viscosity is caused due to the friction between liquid molecules and the surface of the body, caused mainly due to the movement of the body inside the liquid. In gases the molecules are placed so apart such that the individual friction between a molecule and the body can't resist the motion but in liquids the molecules are little closely packed which makes the total friction from all molecules enough to resist the motion of body. This is the reason why viscosity is dominant in liquids only.

- Density is such a property which describes the liquid itself but viscosity describes the motion of a body present in it.

Attempt All sub parts from each question.Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid: Viscosity is the physical property that characterizes the flow resistance of simple fluids. Newton’s law of viscosity defines the relationship between the shear stress and shear rate of a fluid subjected to a mechanical stress. The ratio of shear stress to shear rate is a constant, for a given temperature and pressure, and is defined as the viscosity or coefficient of viscosity. Newtonian fluids obey Newton’s law of viscosity. The viscosity is independent of the shear rate. Example: air, water, alcohol etc. Non-Newtonian fluids do not follow Newton’s law thus, their viscosity (ratio of shear stress to shear rat e) is not constant and is dependent on the shear rate. Example: honey, ketchup etc. Non-Newtonian fluids can be categorized into four types based on the way a fluid’s viscosity changes in response to variations in shear rate.• Pseudoplastic: Materials whose viscosity decreases as the shear rate increases. This type of flow behavior is sometimes called shear thinning. Example: Cake batter, agar-agar and fruit juice concentrates, nail polish etc.• Dilatant: M aterials whose viscosity increases as the shear rate increases. This type of behavior is sometimes called shear-thickening. Example: Suspension of corn starch in water and candy compounds etc..• Thixotropic: M aterials whose viscosity decreases when sheared at a constant rate over time. Example: Yogurt, gelatin gel, honey etc.• Rheopectic: M aterials whose viscosity increases when sheared at a constant rate over time. Example: Printer ink, gypsum paste etc.Q.
