Verified Answer
Each question is followed by two statements, A and B. Answer each ques...
Let there be n integers.
Hence, AM of these n integers = 1001/n As
AM is also an integer, n should be either 7 or 11 or 13.
Using Statement A alone:
As AM  GM, we have,
1001/n 143
1001 143n
7 n
n = 7 (n cannot be 1 as for n = 1, the GM is 1001, which is not true.)
Hence, the AM of the given numbers = 1001/7 = 143
Hence, statement A alone is sufficient.
Using Statement B alone:
As all numbers are equal, hence their AM = GM
But we don't know the GM or the count of numbers. Hence we cannot determine the AM of these numbers.
Hence, statement B alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, option 1.

Each question is followed by two statements, A and B. Answer each ques...
Given:
- Sum of certain numbers is 1001
- Arithmetic mean of these numbers is an integer

To find:
- What is the arithmetic mean of these numbers?

Statement A:
- Geometric mean (GM) of these numbers is 143

Statement B:
- All numbers are equal

Analysis:
- The sum of any set of numbers is equal to the arithmetic mean multiplied by the number of terms. So, if the sum is 1001 and the arithmetic mean is an integer, it implies that the number of terms is also an integer.
- The geometric mean is the nth root of the product of n numbers. In this case, if the geometric mean is 143, it implies that all the numbers in the set are equal to 143.
- If all the numbers are equal, then the sum of those numbers will be the product of the number and its count. Therefore, if all the numbers are equal to 143, their sum will be 143 multiplied by the number of terms.
- From this analysis, it is clear that statement B alone can determine the arithmetic mean of the numbers.

Solution:
- The question can be answered by using statement B alone but not by using statement A alone.
- Therefore, the correct answer is option (2).
